ACCREDITATION

LEARN ABOUT BECOMING ACCREDITED

Becoming accredited means an organization has conducted a thorough self-assessment and compared themselves to recognized benchmarks of best practice. Accreditation means that the organization, agency, or program was able to demonstrate evidence of implementation to all relevant benchmarks.

Accreditation is a rigorous process conducted by a third-party organization such as the National Accrediting Commission for Diversity and Inclusion™.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Application submission deadlines occur four times per year:

  • January 31st

  • April 30th

  • July 31st

  • October 30th

The accreditation process takes 3 – 5 months to complete from the time the application is submitted to the time the applicant receives official notification of the accreditation decision. Each separate location of an organization will be considered a linked application. Linked applications incur designated fees and addendum reports. Your accreditation liaison will be able to explain the process for linked applications in more detail.

There are fees associated with accreditation by the National Accrediting Commission for Diversity and Inclusion: application fees, initial accreditation fees, annual report fees and re-affirmation fees. There are two types of fees: fees for members or non-members. Fees must be paid when submitting initial applications, annual reports or re-accreditation applications.
